The new Al Azzouzia bus station officially opened its doors on July 24, 2026. It permanently replaces the old Bab Doukkala station, located right in the city center. This opening marks a major turning point for all travelers arriving by coach in Marrakech, offering modern infrastructure and decongesting the urban center.
Is the old Bab Doukkala station still in service? No, all departures and arrivals of intercity coaches (CTM, Supratours, and other companies) are transferred to this new site. Located to the west of the city, in the El Azzouzia district, the new station offers modern ticket offices, comfortable waiting areas, and reinforced security.
How to reach the city center from the Al Azzouzia station? To get to the medina or the city center, two urban bus lines (lines 15 and 16) directly serve the station. A quick alternative is the grand taxi rank, now relocated near the Aswak Assalam supermarket, not far from the old Bab Doukkala station.
Which destinations are served by the new station? The Al Azzouzia bus station connects Marrakech to major Moroccan cities. You will find regular and comfortable intercity connections to popular destinations such as Safi, Essaouira, Agadir, as well as the northern metropolises of the country.
Getting from Al Azzouzia to Riad Sable Chaud — Riad Sable Chaud is about 15.7 km from the new station — roughly a 29-minute drive via the P2008 route, which currently avoids the road closures on the N7.
